First of all, a big thank you for allowing me and my partner to enjoy all the facilities at Alpine Springs. We had an absolute blast! The friendly ladies at reception made it really easy for us and were very helpful.

We arrived from Christchurch and after checking in at our accommodation we headed straight for the pools. It was a very pleasant experience. We found the location beautiful and the facilities clean and modern. I have experienced the pools at Hanmer Springs and Franz Josef and found the ones at Lake Tekapo to be of a similar (great) quality while retaining a very distinctive feel. My partner actually liked the Tekapo pools better with the more intimate feel and the gorgeous mountain views. We couldn’t believe how popular it all was though, with an even mix of locals/ kiwis and overseas tourists.

The next day we headed to the ice rink and again everything went smoothly with helpful staff and a fun time on the ice. It took a bit of convincing to get my partner to try the snow tubing but he didn’t regret it! That was so much fun. We had time to try it all on that beautiful sunny Sunday morning.

Our aim was to have a nice weekend away from Christchurch and try something different to Hanmer/Akaroa/Kaikoura. The facilities at Alpine Springs definitely complement the lovely spot that is Lake Tekapo with a mix of fun activities and relaxation at a reasonable price.

I would not hesitate to recommend Alpine springs to my friends.
